Mallorca Biking Week

Saturday 09-Oct-2027 to Saturday 16-Oct-2027 · Port de Pollença, Mallorca

Road biking, fitness and great food. One villa, five private rooms, six full days of riding in one of the best cycling destinations in the world.

The plan

A week of riding, sport and good company

I've booked a road-biking villa for 09-Oct-2027 to 16-Oct-2027 in Port de Pollença, Mallorca. The focus is road cycling, but there are plenty of alternatives on the doorstep: swimming, running, padel, CrossFit, hiking, kayaking. All cycling levels are welcome and every activity is optional.

If you need to work a few hours a day, that's fine. The villa has good Wifi and the days are long enough for a ride in the morning and a laptop in the afternoon.

This is a non-profit trip between friends. Nobody is making money on it. Costs are shared, nothing more.

  • Villa with five private rooms, each with its own bathroom
  • Professional road bikes (Rose) available on site, €150 per week
  • Group of 5 to 10 people, first come first served
  • Rides from 50 km to 150 km a day, adapted to the group
Cycling along the promenade in Port de Pollença
Where we stay

The villa

Five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool, a big kitchen and a dining table for everyone. Supermarket round the corner, restaurants a short city-bike ride away. I've stayed here three times. More details and photos on the villa's own site: veloco.de/en.

Money

What it costs

Rough numbers per person, based on five participants sharing the villa. With more people in the villa the room share drops. Flights depend on where you fly from and are not included.

ItemPer person / week
Villa (€2,995 total, split five ways)€600
Road-bike rental (optional, bring your own if you prefer)€150
Tourist tax (€7 per night)~€40
Food (~€30 per day, breakfast at home, dinner out)€150 to €200
Car rental share€50
Total, excluding flights~€1,000

I've already paid a non-refundable 50% deposit (€1,500) to hold the villa for this week. To reserve your spot you'll pay your share of the deposit; the exact amount depends on the final head count and I'll confirm it once the group is set.
Riding

Suggested routes

Six full riding days, all starting and ending at the villa. These routes are a suggestion, not a fixed plan. Distance and intensity get decided once we know who's coming. Everyone in this group is fit, but not everyone is a road-cycling veteran, and the week should work for both.

Day 1 · Warm-up loop

Easy legs, get used to the bike and the roads. Open in Strava

Day 2 · Port de Pollença → Monestir de Lluc → Port de Pollença

Into the Tramuntana to the monastery and back. Open in Strava

Day 3 · Port de Pollença → Cap de Formentor → Port de Pollença

The lighthouse road. Shorter, scenic, a few punchy climbs. Open in Strava

Day 4 · Port de Pollença → Sa Calobra → Port de Pollença

The big one. The famous descent to the sea and the climb back out. Open in Strava

Day 5 · Port de Pollença → Campanet → Port de Pollença

Rolling inland roads through the villages. Open in Strava

Day 6 · Formentor again, or rider's choice

Last day. Formentor at sunset is hard to beat, or we repeat whichever ride the group liked most. Open in Strava
Beyond the bike

Other activities

Easy to add, but keep in mind that after 100 km in the saddle you may not want anything too demanding the same day.

Swimming

25 m municipal indoor pool a short bike ride away.

Padel

Two padel clubs close to the villa.

Gym & CrossFit

Two gyms nearby, CrossFit box six minutes by car.

Running & hiking

Sea-front promenade and Tramuntana trails.

On the water

Kayaking and paddleboarding in the bay.

Massage

A massage therapist can come to the villa, roughly €60 per hour.

Questions

Q&A

Will I have my own room and bathroom?

Yes. Five individual rooms, all with their own bathroom.

Can I bring a friend and share a room?

Yes. Every person can bring one more person and share the room cost, which takes the villa to its maximum of 10 (5 × 2). Most people prefer a private room though.

Do we have a tour guide?

We don't need one. I've been there three times and know the roads. I'll play tour guide.

How many rides will we do?

Six full days, and the goal is to ride every one of them. We leave after breakfast and ride anywhere from 50 km to 150 km, always coming back to the villa.

What about food?

Not included. Breakfast at the villa (supermarket round the corner), afternoon snacks and dinner out at one of the many restaurants nearby. The villa has city bikes for getting to dinner.

What's the weather like in October?

Ideal for riding, not too hot and not too cold. The occasional rainy day is possible, but in three visits there was never a day we couldn't ride for at least a few hours.

And if it rains?

Swim in the indoor pool, hit the gym, take a rest day, or get some work done. Good Wifi throughout.

Which bikes are available?

A large selection of recently purchased Rose road bikes is available on site for €150 per week. You only need to bring your cycling kit, shoes and pedals. Bringing your own bike is fine too.

When is payment due?

I've paid a non-refundable 50% deposit (€1,500) for the week. To reserve a spot you pay your share of that deposit. The amount per person depends on the final head count and will be confirmed once the group is set.

Can I invite other friends?

Yes, as long as they share a passion for sport, speak English, are responsible and are fun to hang out with.

Until when do I need to decide?

There's no deadline. First come, first served. If nobody joins, this becomes a long-overdue hiking holiday with my mother.
